Our specialty is multiple births, whether it is twins,
triplets, or quads. We have seven years experience helping
mom's with 'multiples.' It's a very
special challenge when you have two or more babies, and we
can help. Another area of specialization is helping moms and
newborns form all the right habits, patterns, and routines
to lay the groundwork for great sleeping habits later. Sleep
is precious for new mom's, especially when two or more
babies are involved.
We offer child-care instruction in the areas of
bathing, cord care, bottle-feeding or breast-feeding,
swaddling, proper diaper-change routine, circumcision, and
the use of equipment such as breast pumps. We can
demonstrate and train the new mother in infant massage and
calming techniques, commonly called the "Five S's."
We provide the most current information on lactation and
help with positioning the newborn. We can demonstrate the
use of feeding charts and offer suggestions for developing a
routine for the new baby. We use proven techniques that help
the baby sleep more at night, and sleep all night as soon as
possible.
Most of the time, we find that mom wants to hold and care
for her new baby. But if you just have to have that
much-needed rest or a nap, we can care for the newborn.

We're mom's too, so
we know how hectic life can get. We can support the new mom
and the family by assuming some household chores, such as:
Meal preparation - we can make the main meal of
the day, prepare the kids lunches for school, or keep that
after-school snack under control before supper is served.
Sibling care - whether it's a toddler you have to
keep out of the kitchen cupboards or a pre-teen that feels
abandoned after the new baby arrives, we can help!
Pets? - Yes, even with a newborn, the kitty-litter
has to be changed, the dog has to be walked, the goldfish
needs to be fed, and the canary needs fresh water and more
seeds! We'll do it all.
Light housekeeping - we'll keep the home looking
civilized while mom recuperates. But we don't install new
floors, paint the family room, or do renovations!
Grocery shopping - there will be times when getting
in the car and going shopping just seems to be - well, too
much. We'll stop by the grocery store and get it for you -
or, for us if we're preparing the meals!
Organization? - Yes, there is a preferred way to
organize the nursery and we'll show you how. And while we
don't do renovations, we can organize the baby's room and we
can assemble swings, bouncy seats, and
baby toys.
